NILA Plots our Future Greatness Over Tea at Urth Caffe

The board met Wednesday August 1st at the lovely Urth Caffe in the Arts District downtown. We discussed upcoming events, open board member positions, and much more. Roberta was secretary this time, as we take turns in this role. We finished early, even with me multitasking by writing the August newsletter as we discussed what we wanted to see in the newsletter. That was before I handed my computer over to Roberta as her battery didn’t quite make the full 2 1/2 hours!

Call for Future Leaders

Serving on the board of the professional chapter has been a very rewarding experience for all of us! In the past year and a half, we’ve built a strong foundation to keep this chapter thriving. t’s not just athletes that win the Gold this year, we were one of the few Net Impact Professionals Chapters to achieve Gold Status! Read more about what that means here.

Although we do enjoy the work we do for Net Impact LA, and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the chapter grow, we want to make these leadership opportunities available to others as well. And we all know the value of term limits! Our plan is to transition all roles after 2 years of service. Some of us are approaching that two year mark, so our positions will be open in January. If you think you might be interested in another role, please let us know so we can discuss your candidature.  We currently have openings for the following positions:

  • Treasurer
  • Service Corps
  • Book Club

If you’re interested in joining our leadership team, please contact our Chapter President Sarah Schwald. We meet face to face quarterly, and via phone conference monthly, as well as socially at our monthly events. We’ve drafted clear guidelines for each position as we’ve gone through these early years to make it easier for incoming board members to fill their roles.
